Erica is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico's Journalism BA and American University's International Media MA. Following her master's degree, she worked as a Communications Specialist at the Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School, a D.C. school that serves adult immigrants. After six years at the school, she transitioned to the environmental field, working as the Digital Content Manager at the environmental book publisher Island Press. She became a passionate environmentalist during her undergrad years, when she had the opportunity to interview several environmental activists in Puerto Rico. She is proud to join the American Bird Conservancy's communications team and use her skills to advocate for conservation.
